The Blackface Fender Deluxe, produced from 1964 - 1967, is one of the most storied vintage guitar amps ever built. This non-reverb model was essentially a beefed-up Princeton with a 12" speaker hit by 20 watts of power from a pair of 6V6 tubes, and separate Normal and Vibrato inputs.

Both the Deluxe Reverb (DR) and Princeton Reverb (PR) “survived” the CBS silverface periods with minor changes. Many people consider the silverface amps just as sonically good as the blackface models. A lovely Fender Blackface Deluxe Reverb 1966 came to us. It was extremely noisy and the reverb was crackling and popping. It was a USA 110 volt AC model and so used a step down transformer to enable it to run in the UK on 230 volts The amp was all original apart from the power supply capacitors and the choke having been changed.
